Careers
Our Firm provides a unique work environment due to our combination of a large firm legal practice in a small firm setting. Our large firm practice means we have an established client base which provides important, interesting and professionally rewarding work. It also allows us to practice in a broad range of practice areas, including complex litigation and large corporate and transactional work usually reserved for much larger firms.
Our Firm’s small size provides an opportunity for the lawyers to experience a variety of different practice areas and to develop new practice areas of their own. We are able to operate without any departmentalization or bureaucratic organizational structure, so no one gets stuck in a practice area that they do not enjoy. The working environment allows each lawyer to find the practice areas that are most professionally and personally rewarding to them, thereby enabling them to perform at their highest level. Being small also gives every lawyer the opportunity to have a great deal of input in Firm-wide decisions and management, which is critical to running an efficient business. The sense of camaraderie and the willingness to assist each other in our common goal of serving our clients’ needs is strongest in a small firm such as ours.
People interested in working for the Firm should contact Kirk Mattei. For information about our Summer Associate Program, please click below.
The Summer Associate Program is designed to be our Firm’s primary hiring tool for new attorneys. Most of our associates previously worked for us as a Summer Associate. This is important to us because of our small size and our committment to keeping a productive culture and work environment. For this reason, our Summer Associate Program provides the most realistic view as possible of life as an associate at our Firm so both the Summer Associate and the lawyers in the Firm can determine if the Summer Associate would make a good fit as a permanent addition to the Firm.
The number of Summer Associate positions available is determined by a realistic evaluation of our expected hiring needs for new associates for the year that those students expect to become lawyers. This typically results in one or two Summer Associate positions from both the rising second-year class and the rising third-year class. Summer Associates are typically hired to work for the second half of the Summer.
We solicit resumes, transcripts and cover letters from all interested first- and second-year law students for our Summer Associate Program. For first-year students, these materials should be sent by late January or as soon as possible after receiving your first semester grades. Second-year law students should send these materials by mid-August or immediately after the start of their second year of law school. Law students at schools where we conduct on-campus interviews should submit their resumes and transcripts to their Career Service Office for forwarding to our Firm in accordance with their school’s requirements.
Resumes, transcripts, cover letters and questions about our Firm’s recruiting and Summer Associate Program should be directed to:
